Cloud Support Engineer

We're growing our product development software and systems team and are looking for a Cloud Support Engineer to maintain and improve cloud software and databases.
As part of our product development team, you will maintain virtual machines, servers, databases, and cloud environments; deploy software upgrades to the cloud; analyze logs and optimize performance of cloud systems; and resolve issues with availability and connectivity.
Our software and systems team delivers unique electronics and software solutions to support our business units in bedding, home furniture, automotive, and other markets.

Essential responsibilities of a Cloud Support Engineer:

  • Create, manage, and scale virtual machines and containers in our cloud
  • environments
  • Perform maintenance, upgrades, migrations, and restarts of cloud resources
  • Optimize databases and storage to improve performance
  • Develop and implement disaster recovery strategies, maintain backups, and
  • implement failovers
  • Manage available resources, load balancing, and network bandwidth to
  • provide optimal user experience
  • Identify existing and potential performance or security problems with our
  • cloud
  • Manage team access roles and permissions to cloud resources

A few things you ll need:

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, or closely related field

  • Experience with Azure Cloud, AWS, or Google Cloud
  • Problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to respond with urgency and stay organized within a fast-paced team
  • Ability to work independently or as an active member of a team
  • Proactive, analytical, and self-educating mindset with an eye for detail

Things we consider a plus:

  • Experience with Azure DevOps and Git
  • Experience with MQTT, REST APIs, real-time data streams, and other datarelated
  • technologies
  • Experience with cloud performance analytics and reporting
  • Self-motivated to learn new technologies to improve productivity and provide
  • better results
  • A working knowledge of some of the tools and technologies that we use including:
    Kubernetes, Docker, Linux, PostgreSQL, Python, Node.
    js, Active Directory, OAuth
