Student Services Specialist I, College of Communication & Information, Center for Undergraduate Studies & Advising

This position provides administrative and clerical support for the Center for Undergraduate Studies and Advising. Duties/Responsibilities include:
coordinating front office functions; maintaining databases; preparing reports; maintaining records of all Communication & Information students; data entry in Banner; assisting with student orientations; directing questions and inquires to appropriate personnel/departments; providing support to the College's Academic Affairs personnel; providing student data for College's academic programs; scheduling appointments for Communication & Information students; supervising student workers; performs other duties as required.
Minimum
Qualifications:
High School diploma; 3 years of office experience working with students in higher education
Preferred
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree; knowledge of Banner and IRIS
Skills and Abilities:
Dependable with excellent interpersonal skills and organizational skills. Ability to effectively communicate with diverse faculty, staff, students, and the general public; ability to self-manage and take initiative. Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Access, and Excel.
Pay Grade 35

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
