Computer Hardware Field Technician

CTG is currently reviewing resumes for Computer Hardware Technicians to work in the field unloading and racking, stacking and cabling servers as part of a data center scale out. Primary duties will involve carefully unloading the boxes of hardware off of pallets, removing any packaging from the hardware, and then installing the servers into racks, connecting cabling, and labeling the cables. Training and direction will be provided.
Location: Knoxville, Tennessee OR Livermore, California
Project Duration: July or August start date with the project ending February or March of 2018
Schedule: 1st shift M-F, 8am to 5pm. Potential for some down time in between deliveries. No weekend work.
Required Attire: Steel tip safety shoes or boots, gloves, hard hat and safety glasses
Job Duties:
This is a manual labor role that requires wearing safety equipment such as steel toed shoes or steel toed boots, a hard hat, protective eye wear, and protective gloves. Must be able to lift 50lbs, or more, on a daily basis to move large boxes filled with fragile hardware as well as to move servers and server racks into place once they are unloaded and unpacked. Must be able to bend, reach, twist, and lift to pull cables and attach cables to connect servers to each other.
Unpack and position racks:
Work with hand tools such as pliers and screwdrivers
Use hand held power tools (impact drivers)
Operate pallet jacks
Rack and stack servers:
Lift up to 50 lbs repetitively (250 /- times per week)
Understand rack layout diagrams
Plug pre-routed cables into designated ports
Label servers and devices in the cluster
Cabling:
Apply labels to cables
Bundle and route cables
Keep work area clean and clear of debris
These are all relatively simple (labor intensive) tasks but we still need people that understand that they are working with sensitive equipment, so experienced network and hardware people are preferred.
Required Skills and Experience include:
Must be able to lift equipment up to 50lbs repetitively throughout the day
Experience with rack placement, anchoring, component mounting, cabling, power service, and connections.
Ability to bend and work under tight spaces to pull cables
Ability to take direction and stick to a schedule as well as work as part of a team
Prior Network Install or Hardware Install experience is preferred
Additional Information:
No third party resumes will be accepted

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
