Middlebrook Pike United Methodist Church is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Communications Director to join our team.
The Communications Director will play a crucial role in enhancing our church's outreach, engagement, and overall communication strategy.
This part-time position involves 18 hours per week and offers an exciting opportunity for an individual with strong communication skills and a passion for fostering community connections.
Responsibilities:
1.
Content Creation:
Develop engaging content for various communication channels, including newsletters, the website, and other church publications.
Collaborate with ministry leaders to gather information and highlight church events, programs, and initiatives.
2.
Print Materials:
Oversee the creation and printing of church bulletins for weekly services.
Coordinate the production of printed materials for special events, programs, and outreach efforts.
Create a bi-monthly printed version of the newsletter for congregation members who do not use email.
3.
Weekly Newsletter:
Create and distribute a weekly newsletter to keep the congregation informed about upcoming events, announcements, and church news.
Ensure the newsletter aligns with the church's messaging and branding.
4.
Church-wide Communications:
Assist in the development and execution of church-wide communication strategies.
Help send out important announcements, updates, and information to the entire congregation through various communication channels.
5.
Website Maintenance:
Ensure the church website is regularly updated with relevant content, including announcements, event details, and multimedia resources.
Work on improvements to enhance the overall user experience.
6.
Internal Communication:
Facilitate effective communication within the church community through internal channels, ensuring timely dissemination of important information.
Assist in the coordination of communication between church staff, volunteers, and congregants.
7.
Graphic Design:
Create visually appealing graphics for promotional materials, event posters, and digital platforms.
Maintain a consistent visual identity in line with the church's branding guidelines.
8.
Community Engagement:
Act as a liaison between the church and the local community, fostering positive relationships.
Explore opportunities for collaboration with local organizations to enhance the church's community impact.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
Proven experience in communications, public relations, or a related role.
Strong writing, editing, and interpersonal skills.
Graphic design skills.
Knowledge of and commitment to the mission and values of the United Methodist Church.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
