Job Description:
The Teller I assists members and potential members with their Credit Union financial needs in a prompt, friendly, and efficient manner, both in person and on the phone, following current service model standards.
The Teller I refers members to appropriate Credit Union personnel for services outside the scope of given responsibility.
Essential Functions &
Responsibilities:
Processes member financial transactions, including, but not limited to, cash and negotiable instrument deposits and withdrawals, instant issue creation, fraud research and service events, certificates of deposit.
Makes payments on and answers questions concerning existing loans, enrolls accounts in online banking and assists with log-in and self-service questions, assists with member access to safe deposit boxes, completes and submits documentation for IRA deposits and withdrawals, and prints traction history to assist members with personal balancing and research.
Identifies cross-sell opportunities for new/existing members to enhance their relationship with the Credit Union.
Balances cash and negotiable instrument transactions daily; sells cash to vault to maintain approved cash limit.
Posts vault tickets and balances vault under dual control.
Resolves member questions and concerns, both in person and over the phone.
Promotes and participates in any branch promotion and/or Credit Union campaigns.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Experience:
Six months or more of cash handling experience and/or six months or more of customer service experience is required.
Six months or more of Teller experience preferred.
Education:
A high school diploma or GED is required.
Other Skills Required:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including business writing ability.
Excellent time management and organizational skills, and must be accustomed to working with deadlines.
Must possess mathematical ability to preform very basic math skills.
Must be able to work well with others.
Strong customer service orientation and must be detailed oriented.
Must be proficient with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
