PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Receive inbound calls and instant messages from members and Credit Union employees regarding Credit Union accounts.
Return voicemail messages, conduct courtesy calls, take payments over the phone, and make other outbound calls as directed by management.
Verify information, conduct research, and perform other tasks as assigned by management.
Answer basic member questions on delinquent accounts and transfer calls to Collections Department employees.
Assist branch employees with basic answers on delinquent accounts and take messages for complicated calls.
Communicate sense of urgency when speaking to members in reference to their delinquent account.
Assist Collection Department employees with all documentation, imaging and system maintenance including, but not limited to, closing loan limits, products, and services.
Document all account information (i.
e.
phone calls, promise to pay, updates, requests, etc.
) in the Credit Union collection system and loan system to maintain accurate records on all accounts.
Research return mail or late notice address issues and update the Credit Union systems.
Assist department management with daily and monthly reporting of delinquent accounts.
Assist department management with preparing reports, such as 1099 forms, to be mailed to IRS and members.
Assist Collection Department employees with preparation of documents to be imaged.
This includes cover sheets, organizing and verify documents can be read in the imaging system.
Assist Collection Department with the preparation, organization, and verification of repossession, legal, deceased, bankruptcy, and foreclosure documents.
Also assist with workout loans/modifications and skip exceptions.
This includes locating, printing, and scanning of documents requested by department employees in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with department standards.
Perform system maintenance on active and charged off deposit accounts, along with active and charged off loans as needed.
Communicate, relay and document messages and conversations clearly to members and Credit Union employees.
Assist management with any vendor related paperwork, calls, balancing and research.
Assist department employees and management with any tracking and validation including, but not limited to, issues regarding members, vendors, payments, and processes.
Follow all Credit Union policies, procedures, and regulations.
Represent the Credit Union in a professional manner (including but not limited to appearance, behavior, and performance).
Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
Work cooperatively with others.
All other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS Education/Experience - High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Credit Union or collection experience preferred.
Qualifications and Requirements - Individual must possess the knowledge, skills and ability required to execute the essential functions in a satisfactory manner.
Language - Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and policies and procedures.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to speak and relay messages without confusion and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
Mathematical - Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide.
Ability to perform these operations using units of American money.
Reasoning - Ability to use sound reasoning in order to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
Possess analytical and problem-solving skills to assist members using independent judgment.
Computer - Ability to operate related computer applications including Word, Excel, and email.
Proficient typing skills.
Ability to operate other business equipment including calculator, and telephone.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
