Schedule and coordinate the delivery of raw milk with contract haulers, from DFA Southeast member farms, to DFA Southeast customers, while providing outstanding customer service.
Job Duties and
Responsibilities:
Provide efficient, optimized delivery of raw milk to our customers.
Primary contact for haulers and planning personnel from our customers for all scheduling, ordering and quality issues.
Update schedules based on current data available and customer needs.
Utilize EverAg scheduling software for load planning while accounting for hauler and plant limitations, delivery dates/times, volume, etc.
Become proficient in the Mobile Manifest application used by haulers for assembling farm routes.
Use mileage and optimization tools for scheduling at least cost to members.
Communicate effectively with customers, haulers, and DFA staff via phone, email, text message or videoconferencing.
Establish relationships with customers at plant level, and contract haulers to become familiar with their operations to ensure optimal service.
Support Continuous Process Improvement by evaluating historical seasonality, current volumes of milk, hauler/customer constraints, to provide the most cost effective and efficient solutions to our customers' Raw Milk Demands.
Work cross functionally to solve problems including, but not limited to, delays, incorrect delivery location, quality issues, additional hauling costs, etc.
Actively engage in team and group projects providing input and improvement initiatives.
Complete action plans individually or as part of a team as a collaborative effort.
Negotiate additional hauling rates when required.
Set up outside hauling for transport when needed.
Keep management team apprised of milk transport challenges, including rejected loads, and assist in their resolution.
Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly reporting documents.

Education and Experience High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) and 3-5 years of logistics, dispatching, or related experience Bachelor's degree in business or related field and 1 year of logistics, dispatching, or related experience Certification and/or License - N/A Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Excellent analytical, problem solving, multi-tasking and critical thinking skills Strong communication skills both verbally and written Support and exemplify DFA Values Ability to apply information from multiple data set to find solutions to complex tasks Use supply chain experience to continuously improve the value of our services Ability to work on-call rotation to include nights, weekends, and holidays Able to maintain composure through setbacks and frustrations with consistent demeanor, adapt and manage to change effectively, accept responsibility for actions and decisions, make independent decisions, work in collaboration effectively with teammates and foster good teamwork, determine direction though ambiguous situations, handle challenging or conflict situations with tact and professionalism, take initiative in performing job and seek increased responsibilities, perform task and duties without constant supervision Knowledge of Microsoft Office products, as well as Google versions of these applications General knowledge of DOT regulations preferred Must be able to read, write, and speak English An Equal Opportunity Employer Indeed Compensation:
