Our company is expanding to Knoxville, TN and we are seeking a Supportive Living Operations Manager to provide support to youth in a residential setting.
Each day you will have the opportunity to manage the operations in youth residential homes along side a team of other managers.
Essential Functions:
Maintain confidentiality at all times, to include adhering to HIPAA laws.
Understand and respect the rights of all youth in services.
Ensure that service is delivered in a caring and respectful manner, in accordance with relevant company policies and industry standards.

Provide quality services to people we support.
Be responsible for the health, safety, and emotional support of the youth we serve.
Protect the people we serve from abuse, mistreatment, and neglect.
Provide excellent customer service with a person-centered approach.
Operate company vehicles in a safe, courteous, and reliable manner, occasionally in light inclement weather.
Complete initial and on-going assigned trainings per company policy and licensure requirements.
Maintain open communication at all times.
Be clear, concise and give all relevant information to appropriate parties in a timely manner.
Work shifts as a DSP as needed (meeting DSP expectations and assigned duties while on shift, per DSP job description).
Collaborate with company Program Coordinators on service and supports of youth.
Collaborate with DSPs and youth to write weekly menus and develop shopping list.
Use proactive and positive behavior support strategies to prevent and de-escalate problematic behaviors.
Attend all new admissions and follow established intake procedures.
Oversee and assist in orientation for new youth accepted into the supportive living program and ensure residential staff are appropriately trained to provide support and services to new youth.
Ensure initial personal inventory is completed and updated as needed.
Attend and lead scheduled house meetings as applicable.
Coordinate the house schedule to include youth outings, events, appointments, and ensure staff is aware.
Oversee staff follow-through with established schedule.
Monitor home inventories and re-stock needed items to ensure all homes maintain adequate supply according to company policy.
Know your position functions and have current information on hand or easily accessible.
Multi-task and prioritize on-going goals and tasks.
Create and maintain an organizational culture that values trust, innovation, integrity, respect, and professional growth among employees and leadership.
Participate in the on-call rotation - this may involve picking up a child from school, responding to crisis, accompanying a child to hospital, filling in a shift, etc.
Track, distribute, and monitor youth allowance.
Assist youth with budgeting their allowance based on the youth's functional needs and spending preferences.
Monitor/keep house's credit card and purchase all needed items.
Work within the home's budget to ensure all needed groceries, supplies, leisure, and other expenditures stay within established limits; use appropriate documentation and storage methods provided.
Ensure supports are delivered in a caring and respectful manner, in accordance with relevant company policies and standards.
Provide coaching and mentoring to DSPs/other staff on shift.
Assist personnel with problem-solving and decision-making in both a crisis and day-to-day operations and help develop their skills to complete these tasks independently.
Perform unannounced supervisor visits to the supportive living homes to ensure staff, home, youth, and overall program needs are being met on a regular basis.
Continuously evaluate program effectiveness and report status to direct supervisor with insights on what is working/not working with recommendations on ways to improve.
Collaborate with direct supervisor to provide oversight to DSPs in assigned function/area.
Monitor DSPs to ensure DSPs are providing appropriate supervision and interacting with youth positively and appropriately.
Orient all DSPs to the functions of the homes, as applicable.
Assist with preservice training process related to assigned functions.
Provide on the job training to residential staff and retrain staff if discrepancies are identified.
Interview potential DSPs for staffing vacancies in the home.
Work in partnership with program staff/contractors and all members of the youth's team to meet the needs of youth on your assigned caseload.
Assist youth throughout discharge process.

Physical Requirements - Requires repetitive manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination; requires the ability to use all office/home equipment; and the ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds using appropriate body mechanics.

Visual, Hearing and Communication Requirements - Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Must be able to communicate with all staff, vendors, and people we serve.

Pressure Factor - May require working under stressful conditions at times and handling emergencies.
Working conditions may be noisy with fluctuating indoor temperatures.
There will be pressure at times to meet scheduled appointments and deadlines and manage crisis situations.
This position will interact with people we serve who are intellectually and developmentally delayed and maybe frail or confused and have the potential for verbal or physical aggression.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelors Degree with an emphasis in working with children AND one year experience working in a children's services residential program.
Must have at least one year of experience in service delivery to youth with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.
Must have current state DCS Medication Administration certificate (or the ability to obtain with company upon hire).
Must have current CPR/First Aid certificate (or the ability to obtain with the company upon hire).
Must be able to effectively read, write, and communicate in English and read and understand instructions, perform recordkeeping duties, and write.
Must have consistent access to reliable transportation.
Must possess a valid state Driver's License and valid vehicle insurance.
Must pass a motor vehicle record (MVR), background check and other screening per Company requirements.
