Gerdau is currently seeking a _TEMPORARY HR Administrative Assistant_ for its Knoxville, TN facility.
The assignment will likely be 6 months long.
Job
Summary:
Perform diversified secretarial, clerical & administrative duties for the HR Manager, Mill Manager & other supervisory personnel pertaining to the Knoxville Steel Mill personnel administration & HR activities.

Responsibilities:
Operate various PC programs to compose letters, memos & generate reports.
Perform administrative clerical duties for Division Manager.
Prepare or generate documents from HRIS system various human resources or personnel reports.
Assist in preparing or assembling materials for correspondence or development of repetitive reports such as biannual Human Resource audits and annual affirmative action plans.
Greet employment applicants, distribute application forms, and verify accuracy and completeness of applications. Arrange for pre-employment physicals as directed.
Prepare and submit payroll enrollment, withholding, group insurance forms and time cards for new hires.
Assist with or conduct new hire orientation sessions. Provide new employees with orientation materials.
Maintain confidential personnel wage, salary, safety, training, insurance files, records and other Human resource materials in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Qualifications include:
Minimum of HS Diploma / GED required, but candidate in the process of completing a degree in Organizational Development or related discipline a definite plus.
Minimum of 1-2 years' administrative experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment required.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail a definite must.
Intermediate to advanced level experience w/Word, Excel & PowerPoint; HRIS experience a plus.
Prior HR experience strongly preferred.
The ability to perform a variety of tasks and be compliant with all safety regulations including wearing PPE at all times within the mill.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
