Work Description:
Works in a team oriented environment primarily as an AIX Unix or Microsoft Windows server administrator with additional preference towards VMWare and storage administration. Must work closely with end users, other system administrators, and application developers to adapt, implement, and maintain hardware and software for all client/server-based operating systems. Provides technical support, testing, and problem diagnostics. Ability to completely manage assigned systems including system reliability, patching, security, back-up, and change management and demonstrate the ability to take ownership of these systems. Must be open to stand-by, working after hours/weekends, and on-call duties. Team oriented with strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Qualifications
Minimum
Qualifications:
Three (3)
years of Unix or Windows system administration experience
Ability to train users in application and operating system fundamentals
Familiarity with most commands/utilities for AIX Unix or Windows Servers and operating systems
Familiar with most basic network or system administrator tools and processes
Fundamental understanding of Windows- based or AIX Unix operating systems
Ability to properly install, configure, support, and manage Microsoft Windows or AIX Unix servers
Programming experience in any applicable language
Valid Tennessee driver s license (or ability to obtain if employed)
Physical Demands:
Sedentary work; exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time in normal office conditions, but does involve walking or standing outside periodically for inspections, customer calls, etc. Work requires no unusual physical demands.Note: The physical demands described above are intended to relate the approximate physical demands of the classification. Preferred
Qualifications:
Three (3) or more years of experience managing Microsoft Windows networks
Have or is working towards gaining Microsoft or AIX Unix certifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related experience
Familiar with Disaster Recovery strategies and planning
Experience with the administration of a Microsoft Windows Active Directory network.
Experience managing Lotus Notes & Domino
Experience with VMWare ESXi, VMWare View, or IBM PowerVM
Experience building policies and procedures for Windows Security using AD and GPO s
Experience with 24 x 7 data center support
Familiar with web server products (i.e. Sharepoint, Tomcat, Websphere, FTP, etc.)
Proficient in handling multiple projects and meeting project deadlines
Able to particpate in documentation of managed systems
Able to work with minimal supervision, self-motivated, strong work ethic
Strong aptitude for problem solving, collaboration, and communication skills
IBM AIX, other UNIX or Linux knowledge
Experience managing multiple-node environments
Experience with Tivoli products and enterprise-backup solutions
