Gerdau is seeking to hire a Maintenance Mechanic for its Knoxville, TN facility.

Overview:
This position is a multi-craft maintenance position with a heavy focus on the Mechanical skill set. This position will be responsible for troubleshooting and repair of overhead cranes. PLC knowledge is strongly preferred. This position requires working in a hands-on industrial environment (including working in high heat or cold temperatures).


Qualifications include:
Minimum education requirement is a high school diploma or equivalent; preferred education is an associate's degree or appropriate certification.
A minimum of two years of work history in an industrial mechanical maintenance position.
Experience troubleshooting and repairing complex gear boxes and brake assemblies commonly found on cranes.
Familiar with safety requirements for overhead cranes.
Familiar w/the use of basic electrical test equipment (volt meter / megger).
Able to align motors and couplings.
Basic familiarity with MS Office a plus.
Able to read electrical schematics to assist in installation/troubleshooting.
Ability to read and troubleshoot hydraulic schematics a plus.


Additional Requirements:
Must be able to successfully pass a written assessment including basic math, mechanical aptitude, electrical knowledge, and general industrial knowledge.
Must be able to successfully pass a hands-on practical test with senior leadership, demonstrating your abilities to perform the job successfully.
Some light duty welding/torching may be required.
